Birth registration and birth certificates report

On 12 November 2013 the Victorian Law Reform Commission published its report on “Birth registration and birth certificates”. The Report adopts many of ICJ Victoria’s submission about the operation of the Births, Deaths and Marriages Act 1996 (Vic) and makes 26 recommendations to better ensure that the process of registering a birth and applying for a birth certificate is accessible to all members of the Victorian community.
